The Übermensch Notes #3
Issue for October, 2025
Hey there!
This is the third iteration of The Übermensch Notes, the series where I update my kind readers about my lifelong dream of going beyond the norm.
The month of October has been a complete roller coaster for me. I went through a few massive mindset changes, lost people, found some, wrecked my sleep schedule, and started going to school. Oh well now, it was just a minima, and I think things are going to be better really soon.
So here’s some stuff for you to see, cringe and endure. You can read, skip, immerse in sections you want, I don’t really care. But if you do notice something interesting, please reach out! I always appreciate when people do that. It really makes my day.

Input
Books and Articles
Fiction:
Total four books read/listened to cover-to-cover. Many were left in the middle. But that’s just fine.
All Systems Red: The Murderbot Diaries #1 - Martha Wells - 3/5
Convenience Store Woman - Sayaka Murata - 4/5
Heaven - Mieko Kawakami - 3.5/5
We’ve Always Lived In The Castle - Shirley Jackson - 3/5
Also reading one or two stories from Etgar Keret’s early work, The Nimrod Flipout once in a while. Cool!
Left/Stopped reading:
Shogun - James Clavell
too long of a commitment.Peter Jackson and the Lighting Thief - Rick Riordan
not for me, but could be very interesting for young adults.
Reading on the side / Non-fiction / Articles:
Feynman’s Surely You’re Joking Mr. Feynman; great book to pass the time in school and to get some inspiration.
RSS feeds to read on my phone instead of doomscrolling
Audio
I am an audiophile lessgooo.
Music
This month, I mostly listened to the (AI Generated) Music from Pause, Maybe. But to my surprise, that’s a very nice way to create some ambiance to work with. Especially if you combine it with mynoise.net generator like Cafe Restaurant!
Along with that, some of the albums I listened/re-listened to and actually liked:
Ashes of the Wake - Lamb of God [metal]
Okurimono - Hyakkei [Japanese post-rock]
In Absentia - Porcupine Tree [prog rock/metal]
Morning View - Incubus [nu-metal/alt]
Black Focus - Yussef Kamaal [jazz fusion]
The Return - Kamaal Williams [jazz fusion]
KOKOROKO - Kokoroko [jazz fusion/afrobeat]
Suite for Cello Solo - Johann Sebastian Bach (played by Pierre Fournier) [classical]

Audiobooks
I am really enjoying Bluefax’s unofficial narration of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit. Truly one of the things that BLEW my mind. Makes me want to narrate books as well!
I actually started listening to Phil Dragash’s Narration of Lord of The Rings which got me into the Middle-Earth series (reading didn’t really work for me. It was a huge commitment). I left that in a couple of chapters to listen to the prequel (i.e. The Hobbit).
Bluefax and Phil Dragash are doing God’s job! It’s a shame that the Tolkien estate doesn’t recognise talent, only money.
Idea Dump & Thought Shifts
Before I begin with the stuff that I thinking about, let me update on some ideas I dumped in the previous issue.
Resonance Journaling. I started doing that just after writing the last issue, and man, it has been a great experience.
But alas, I had some really nasty time constraints and schedule mishaps, so didn’t really get a moment to reflect on it.
But I would like to go on capturing more of these moments.
Now, the new stuff:
Not remaining inside oneself. Consequently, leaning on others.
Something which I find hard to explain, but yes. I have been a lone wolf most of my life, which makes me a skeptical nuisance. I often don’t trust others, and feel that ranting/opening up/asking for help is a waste of time.
But we all know that it’s not true, and thanks to my dear friends Satvik, Archita, Rohit and Jyotishman for making me realise this, and being there for me.
From now onwards, I would like to be more vulnerable, and take shelter in friends and family that I know are there for me.
Optimising for what matters and letting go of everything else.
Why care about your (social) image when it drives you further from yourself?
Why not chase something like a madman? Because only then you shall be able to do something about it.
Take your strength and put it to work.
That’s all for this issue.
Stay alert to what breaks, what sticks, and what shifts. Forget perfectionism- keep on iterating. We’re not finished products; we’re dog food waiting to be turned into manure for a tree.
Oh, and all goblins are summoned to focus.exe, the focus cult or Nibir’s Brain Dump to discuss plans to infiltrate the kitchen at 3 AM and claim the leftover pizza.
Until the next iteration —
Nibir.
